Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2022: the list of winners

Earlier this 29th March, the list of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2022 was revealed. The 10th edition of the Asia's 50 Best was held physically in Bangkok, Macau and Tokyo and broadcasted Live for the rest of the world.
Asia's 50 Best Restaurants was launched in 2013 to celebrate gastronomy across the region and to provide diners around the globe with local insight and culinary recommendations. The Asia's 50 Best earned its legitimacy as a compass for fledgling gourmets, unveiling up-and-coming chefs and showcasing the subtlety and complexity of various cuisines from around the region – with many more still to discover.

And without further ado, discover the Asia's 50 Best restaurants 2022, which restaurant took the coveted No.1 spot on the list and buckle up for your next culinary adventures!
Den (Tokyo, Japan) was crowned best restaurant in the continent ! Its chef Hasegawa’s ever-creative take on the elevated cuisine of his homeland is innovative, at times humorous, and always satisfying. But what makes Den so unique among Japanese restaurants – and so popular – is how relaxed and welcoming it feels.
The second ranking position went to Bangkok's restaurant Sorn, and the third to Florilège in Tokyo.
Special awards were also given during the ceremony, honoring chefs and restaurants that make a great impact on the world of gastronomy in Asia. One of them called "American Express One To Watch Award" was won by Eat and Cook in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Showing an upside to the COVID downturn, two recently out-of-work chefs Lee Zhe Xi and Soh Yong Zhi pursued their passion project and created the region’s most promising new restaurant !
The "Icon Award" went to South Korean monk Jeong Kwan. The venerated Buddhist monk is recognised for her philosophical approach to cooking and her mastery of temple cuisine.

Alongside the 50 best restaurants in Asia, were announced the top 100 and individual awards such as "The Best Pastry Chef 2022", a prize that we are deeply honoured to be yet again sponsor. Asia's Best Pastry Chef 2022 goes to Maira Yeo, Pastry Cheffe of Cloudstreet, in Singapore.
At Valrhona, we always and deeply valueethical and human sides of individual. It was such an humbling honour to give the Award to Cheffe Maira Yeo, knowing that earlier during the pandemic, she got the idea to make baked goods to sell for charity while serving out her Stay-HomeNotice (SHN). Cheffe Yeo was then shaking local dessert lovers scene with a small range of artisanal cookies and cakes that she sold through Instagram. Most of the money she made went to Covid-19-related causes such as migrant worker support programmes and other groups in need. Maira Yeo received a flood of praise on social media for her caritative gourmet bakes.
